Savings & Investments

There are many different types of investments. Each has its own level of risk, but basically you take a risk with your money by investing in assets that could rise, or fall in value.

It is our role to help you choose the right investments to help you meet your objectives. Sensible investment planning revolves around understanding what your investment aims are. Broadly speaking the longer that your investment is to be left alone, (e.g. for retirement) the higher the level of short term risk that may be acceptable. If however the money is needed in the near future (e.g. for a house deposit) then short-term safety could be essential.

After discussing your investment objectives we will establish, through a series of questions, your tolerance to risk as well as any ethical stance you may have.

Should you have any existing arrangements, we will establish their risk profile and review their continued suitability in line with your objectives. We will then establish an investment strategy appropriate for your needs, and using the investments best suited to your investment attitude and tax position.

A change in your circumstances or attitude to risk, market conditions and/or displacement of a fund manager are all factors that may necessitate a change to your portfolio, therefore it is imperative that your investments are reviewed on a regular basis to ensure their continued suitability.
